There are still a few more guest announcements planned for the weeks ahead that you'll want to stay tuned for. Our community is really coming together even as we spend so much of our time apart. This weekend is filled with two of our most popular tournaments to compete in, so we're looking forward to spending time with so many of you.

Family, friends, food... and games! We all have something to be thankful for; even when life is rough. It's with that spirit that communities come together in support of making lives a little brighter for those dealing with dark days.
Now there were many who participated in the Extra Life gaming events going on worldwide on November 7th to raise money to donate to local children's hospitals. Applause for those of you who contributed! Typically, we get to this week that entails shopping, food making, food eating, and more shopping. Of course, you can stick to your typical routine, but this year you also have the opportunity to get an extra chance at giving to those in need at the San Antonio children's hospital through an extra Extra Life event being held on Black Friday by our supporters at HakubiVerse. So here's what you need to know:
If you happen to be reading this a little late, don't fret! There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to do something nice for someone else. Do you love video games, conventions, and helping people? Why not volunteer? Our volunteer applications are open for the Electronic Gaming Convention being held February 26-28th, 2021. Check it out HERE! We are proud to announce Ray, a pillar in the San Antonio art community, as one of our guest artists. Born in Lubbock, Texas and raised on the south side of San Antonio, Ray has been creating art for as long as he can remember. As a child, he would sell sketches of Iron Maiden album covers to buy his favorite snacks. He continued to make art throughout the years, however it wasn’t until his wife gifted him with his first professional art set that he made his debut as an artist. His wife, Lanett, and his daughter, Madelaine Cheri Sharie, are his two biggest supporters. Ray recalls his wife buying him his first real artist set with a laugh. “I didn’t know what to do with it,” Ray admits. With the help of Momo Villarreal, his business partner, Ray has been helping to promote other local artists and embracing his Latino heritage. With this in mind, Ray and Momo have opened up the LVL Up Gallery at the Rolling Oaks Mall to provide a safe place for all artists to showcase their work. Thanksgiving has been "the time to shop" for years already. New games are ready to fill those Christmas wish lists. However, with concerns about the spread of the virus increasing with the holidays, many of the best deals are exclusively online this year.

San Antonio wants to give you the fun experiences you are craving to escape the boredom that comes from being mostly relegated to one's home. The seemingly outdated concept of the drive-in movies is getting it's second wind. It's not just movies either, many events such as raves, concerts, comedy shows and more have created live events to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle. Still others are holding open-air markets or limited access to enclosed event spaces. Now there are still regulations that require social distancing and masks, but it's nice to have a few options. ![]() You may see us out promoting San Antonio's Electronic Gaming Convention at some of these events, like Godzilla's Birthday Bash weekend held this past Friday, Saturday, & Sunday presented by Lvl Up Art Gallery at Rolling Oaks Mall. We even bring out the game demos from Hebi Studios, including both Slime Time & Rage Ball, so you can get a bit of gaming in while you're learning more about what we'll have in store for you at our gamer focused event. With only three months until EGC kicks off it's own live event, the anticipation is only growing stronger. We have had numerous successful online tournaments with 1st and 2nd place winners earning gift cards from our sponsors. Our next tournament is a few weeks away, December 5th 2020, featuring the "smash hits": Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Killer Instinct. Check out our social media for more details coming soon.
