We are proud to announce Ray, a pillar in the San Antonio art community, as one of our guest artists. Born in Lubbock, Texas and raised on the south side of San Antonio, Ray has been creating art for as long as he can remember. As a child, he would sell sketches of Iron Maiden album covers to buy his favorite snacks. He continued to make art throughout the years, however it wasn’t until his wife gifted him with his first professional art set that he made his debut as an artist. His wife, Lanett, and his daughter, Madelaine Cheri Sharie, are his two biggest supporters.
Ray recalls his wife buying him his first real artist set with a laugh. “I didn’t know what to do with it,” Ray admits.
With the help of Momo Villarreal, his business partner, Ray has been helping to promote other local artists and embracing his Latino heritage. With this in mind, Ray and Momo have opened up the LVL Up Gallery at the Rolling Oaks Mall to provide a safe place for all artists to showcase their work. Check out their events and promotions on Facebook @lvlupartgallerysanantonio

Yerah Maxwell, known to the world as Paradox Cosplay, was a normal girl from Puerto Rice who spent her time modeling, surfing, selling art and mentoring students afterschool. Until one day, when she met her now best friend, Jeinellys; who got her involved in videogames, manga, anime, fanart, and cosplay. After joining the US Army, she settled in San Antonio, TX where she fostered great friendships with fellow cosplayers. Bringing her love of cosplay to others is what she does, even inspiring her husband to take up the mantle as well. Dedicating her time to learning new ways to build, craft and create for the sake of cosplay is compounded by her ever-evolving photography/editing skills and honed with the love and equality she seeks in this community.
